Welcome to the Landeck Castle ruins
The Landeck Castle ruins have the highest castle keep in the Palatinate at 25 metres. The location is pretty special too. Unlike most defensive complexes, it is not afforded the protection of an inaccessible cliff but sits instead on a relatively low rocky outcrop. The original builders compensated for this by making the castle extraordinarily strong.
Information on opening and visiting hours at www.landeck-burg.de.
There is a car park right at Landeck Castle.
Landeck Castle not only offers excellent food and drink, it is also the venue for a number of events, including the oldest medieval festival in the Palatinate.
The castle museum clearly sets out the history of the castle.
